Firehouse Chicago reviews

Joyce and Michael are two outdoor enthusiasts with a penchant for adventure, especially when it comes to rock climbing. During our phone call, they both expressed that they wanted to enjoy their wedding as much as possible, so they chose a venue that provides a fantastic experience for the guests and the newlyweds. Firehouse Chicago feels timeless yet modern with the perfect balance of greenery, modern updates, and vintage accents. Industrial-chic touches help make this venue ultra-versatile. It really doesn’t need too much with all the built-in décor, so couples can focus on what matters most—celebrating your love and having a great time!

Weddings at Firehouse Chicago

This extraordinary Chicago venue provides plenty of room for getting ready, the wedding ceremony, and the reception full of dinner and dancing. I loved the convenience of everything happening all in one place rather than switching between multiple locations. Several spots around the venue were ideal for taking photos, and styled rooms made it easy to transition throughout the day. (Those ivy walls were incredible!) We were able to do the whole shoot right on-site. The unique architecture and rustic feel made for easy and fun backdrops for this incredible couple.

Have it Your Way!

Michael and Joyce wanted their day to feel like them by incorporating personalized details. They designed their wedding invitations themselves (they have a good eye)! They also had their close friend perform their wedding ceremony, and she did such an excellent job.

And for a surprise guest: they booked a food truck–the Tamale Spaceship–for dinner and revealed it when they opened the firehouse barn doors after their grand entrance and toasts. Everyone was so excited to feast on the delicious tacos and tamales! Booking a taco truck at your wedding (or a pizza truck) is such a fun and original idea for wedding food. It gives your guests a unique experience, and who doesn’t love cultural classics made right in front of you with delicious smells wafting through the room? 10/10 recommend!

These two had an amazing wedding party! They were a blast to work with and were up for anything. We also took several photos in front of Michael’s Mercedes before the couple ran through their sparkler exit. It was the perfect wedding day, and Michael and Joyce couldn’t stop smiling from ear to ear.

About the Venue

The Firehouse Chicago venue gives newlyweds and their guests a memorable experience while also being a stunning wedding location. The venue was originally built in 1906 as a firehouse for Engine Company 70, and it’s been renovated and brought back to its original glory. The venue owners also decided to keep the firefighter’s poles so that couples can slide into their reception. Talk about an entrance! With so much history and unique architecture, it’s easy to see why Michael and Joyce chose Firehouse Chicago as their dream wedding venue.

Your Experience is Everything—from Event Planning to Newlywed Sendoff!

Firehouse Chicago takes the time to guide you through the entire planning process and answer all your questions. They can help with decor, oversee vendors, and even pack and clean up at the end of the evening. It doesn’t get much better than that!
