We love having the honor of shooting weddings and re-telling their stories, because there is something so refreshing and encouraging to being able to continuously witness two people commit their lives to each other and each other’s utmost good. But, this time, this wedding was different.

There is a sweetness and inspiration of hope and goodness that only comes when you witness two people again proclaiming after 25 years their commitment to each other. Twenty-five years–that’s almost each of our (Kristen & Pavel’s) entire life spans! Twenty-five years to spend with and invest your whole self into another human being, and, likewise, be invested to. In this day and age when things and commitments are changing everso rapidly, we can say that having the honor of working for this wedding was a deep, deep breath of fresh air.

On the day of the wedding, Pavel arrived early in the morning. Juve, who really wanted to make sure that everything was perfect, had a minor panic attack when he saw him, because he thought Pavel’s arrival meant they had to be leaving soon. Once he assured him that the girls hadn’t even put make up on yet, and that they had at least an hour of time, he became relaxed again 🙂 And then they got tacos.

Some of our favorite photos came from visiting the high school where Norma & Juve first met. The school is closed down now and part of it was actually fenced off for construction, but that added an even deeper element of nostalgia that we felt enhanced the photos exponentially. We even had an epic fallen tree in the middle of the school yard that created an even more boss element to everything (RIP tree 🙁 ; hello beautiful photossss).

Then came Artifact Events (yes, we just recently shot another wedding at this lovely venue right before this one). And we must say, this family knows how to celebrate!!! The dance party was so contagious that there was even a moment where Pavel decided to hand his camera to a guest and jump in on the epic mayhem!

Norma, Juve, Diana (boss wedding planner//daughter of Norma & Juve), Ariel, and Nathan, we are so thankful for the honor of working with you guys and thank you for blessing us with your love and commitment to each other. Your goodness and family’s love is so beautiful, and we can only hope that we captured even a glimpse of that abundance in your wedding photos.
