Okay, so you are engaged!! Yayyyyy ๐
But what is next? WELL: maybe an engagement session?? ๐ย But where should you even begin with that? Maybe you have a favorite spot where you always wanted to have pictures taken, but MAYBE there are a ton of new and exciting places you haven’t thought about yet!
Let us help you! ๐ We have explored and shot around the city many times, and we have found some of the best spots to shoot an engagement session!
OK. Let’s do this!
These are The Best Chicago Engagement Spots
1. North Avenue Beach
A classic view of the Chicago Skyline! Water, sandy beach, amazing view. That’s it. Simple and perfect and endless creative opportunity!

2. Art Institute of Chicago
The Art Institue of Chicago is so creative inside (duh, it’s full of art), but also outside! The South Garden with its beautiful fountain and trees with branches cascading over the paths is just amazing for a romantic touch! It is in downtown of Chicago and, therefore, easy to get to. In order to take pictures inside, you only have to buy a regular ticket, so you could squeeze in a date at the Art Institute after your shoot! ๐ฑ๐๐ผ

3. Wicker Park/Logan Square
There are so many spots where to take amazing photos around Wicker Park and/or Logan Square if you want a bit more of a youthful urban feel to your photos! Train tracks; graffiti walls; cool, grungy back alleys; and also lush greenery like this little park by the Bloomingdale trail next to Ipsento 606. The best thing is? It’s all FREE and you can go on a nice date right after your session–SO many trendy cafes and restaurants in the area!! ๐
4. Lincoln Park
Here, I am talking mainly about the area around the Lincoln Park Zoo. The Nature Board Walk is gorgeous and has such a variety of aesthetic settings and backdrops–a bridge over the South Pond with views of the city in the background, the famous Honeycomb Pavilion, Cafe Brauer, or the Lincoln Park Conservatory (there is a photo fee for the conservatory). The options are endless โบ๏ธ
5. University of Chicago
University of Chicago in Hyde Park has quite a magical touch to it. The historical buildings with their ivy-covered walls feel just like a fairy tale–or, better yet, the charming world of Harry Potter! ๐ง๐ผโโ๏ธ So many cool arches, corners, old trees, and churches! It is a completely different world! BUT you are also not limited to the Old World feel in this area–on campus there are beautiful and sleek modern buildings full of unique and stunning clean angles and lines.
6. Kinzie Street Railroad Bridge
Want a bit more of an urban, industrial touch to your photos? Kinzie Street Railroad Bridge is very close to the Loop with super cool industrial beams and a wonderful view of the city. The best part is, is that there are way more photogenic locations just within one minute’s walking distance. Grungy walls and pillars under the Metro train tracks and a beautiful ivy-covered wall with a pop of red right next to each other. This location is PERFECT because you won’t be limited to just one type of scenery when selecting your Save-the-Date photos–you’ll have SO many options and just choose the one that suits your personality the best!
