You must be a city AND nature person like us when you choose the Ivy Room Chicago for your wedding!  We love nature, but at the same time we are city people–so which to choose when you want to settle down?? Both, of course, since why not to have it difficult? haha 😀 European cities are many times so close to nature, or even have lots of nature inside the city itself). Chicago is a bit more difficult with that. Yes, we have a lake and a few pretty awesome parks, but it is no Swiss Alps or Scottish highlands.

Yet, you don’t have to loose hope if you are like us, when you live in Chicago, but want a beautiful outdoorsy wedding. The Ivy Room is an immaculate court yard hidden between tall Chicago buildings. It is completely surrounded from all sides, so it cancels out the city noise. With its ivy covered walls and rustic windows, all around it creates an old world charm right in the heart of Chicago.

We are so grateful we could shoot this wedding together with and for This is Feeling Photography. Mack & Audria got ready at the Kimpton Gray Hotel, where they start with their first look. Afterwards, we took a few photos at the banks of the Chicago River. And the beginning of the ceremony was just perfect–a string trio gracefully and harmoniously playing to Audria’s steps as she walks down the aisle–with her goddess-like veil cascading behind her–hand-in-hand with the man who was about to give her to her true love. It was quite emotional, to say the least. After the ceremony, we took advantage of these plush and lively ivy walls to take more photos before they went off to party their hearts out–I mean, why wouldn’t they?? They just got MARRIED!!–and at The Ivy Room, for that matter!
